As a recruitment professional I am always keen to add debate about the industry that I am passionate about and have worked in for over 18 years. I would like to invite your comments and thoughts on the "Veterinary Recruitment Industry" in today's market place. Personally I finding the lack of experienced Veterinary professionals some what alarming not only from a business prospective but also in relation to the ongoing care of our animals. 100% of my vacancies only want professionals with 2/3 years experience........... Questions> 1. Is this a true reflection of the market place, no experienced qualified Vets or Nurses seeking an alternative permanent role? 2. Do experienced Vets and Nurses preferred to Locum? If so why? 3. Where are all 2005/6 qualified professionals in the UK or abroad? 4. What is the average length that someone stays at their current job? 5. In the current market with many practices seeking quality experienced staff what would you suggest to resolve this problem? Let's debate!!!!!!

I think that some do prefer to locum, but thats because it masks their own underlying fears about their own ability, I've been doing vet recruitment for years now and if you've got a good locum then don't loose their phone number. To whoever runs this site - would you consider split fees? I have pretty much all of your areas covered. Thanks

Why is it that when practices ask for job applicants they never seem to wants the good ones. Yes I dont have the grades but I certainly have the hands on work and experience .
